It was not long until she starred in her first drama, Merry Morning. In 2003, her popularity continued to climb when she played a leading role alongside Lee Byung-hun in the gambling drama All In. After the pan-Asian success of Full House, she made her big-screen debut in My Girl and I (a Korean adaptation of Crying Out Love in the Center of the World), which was panned by audiences and critics alike. Vocal about her dissatisfaction with typecasting in the roles she was being offered,[1] Song went on a 2-year hiatus. She went to San Francisco to study English, and later traveled to Seattle. "I have had a good rest. Dalam rangka menyambut dirilisnya kembali film "Titanic", Yahoo! Shine melakukan penggalian lebih dalam, mengenai fakta-fakta paling gila yang terjadi selama penggarapan film yang disutradarai James Cameron tersebut. Apa sajakah itu?

1. Kadal peliharaan Leonardo DiCaprio yang bernama Blizz, mengalami cedera di lokasi syuting. Namun aktor tampan tersebut segera merawatnya dan memulihkan kondisi hewan kesayangannya itu.

2. Ternyata, awalnya sang sutradara James Cameron menginginkan agar Gwyneth Paltrow yang berperan sebagai Rose DeWitt Bukater. Selain itu, Claire Danes dan Nicole Kidman juga dipertimbangkan untuk peran itu.

3. Paramount Pictures ingin agar Matthew McConaughey berperan sebagai Jack Dawson, namun James bersikeras mengusulkan Leonardo DiCaprio. Dan Leonardo hampir menolak peran tersebut untuk bermain sebagai peran utama di film 'Boogie Nights', film tentang industri film dewasa di tahun 1970an.

4. Setelah mengetahui bahwa ia harus bertelanjang di depan Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet langsung waspada terhadap lawan mainnya itu, ketika mereka pertama kali bertemu.

5. Adegan pertama yang harus dilakukan oleh Kate dan Leonardo bersama adalah saat Jack harus melukis gambar telanjang Rose. James melakukannya dengan maksud memanfaatkan energi kegugupan dari aktor muda itu.

6. James yang menggambar sendiri sketsa telanjang dari Rose, dan tangannya ditampilkan dalam film tersebut. Gambar itu kemudian dilelang dan terjual dengan harga 16 ribu dolar Amerika (sekitar Rp 146,2 juta).

Gloria Stuart adalah aktris tertua yang pernah menerima nominasi Oscar, untuk perannya sebagai Rose tua, pada usia 87 tahun. Dia juga merupakan satu-satunya orang yang sudah hidup saat bencana nyata Titanic terjadi.

8. Penyanyi baru, Enya menolak kesempatan untuk menyanyikan soundtrack dari film tersebut. Pekerjaan itu kemudian diberikan kepada komposer Jack Horner. Soundtrack film itu yang berjudul "My Heart Will Go On" merupakan lagu pertama dari film non-musikal yang berhasil meraih Oscar.

9. Penyanyi musik Country, Reba McEntire sebelumnya direncanakan untuk berperan sebagai Molly Brown. Namun karena jadwal yang padat, peran itu jatuh pada Kathy Bates.

Setelah malam terakhir syuting di Novia Scotia, seseorang telah menaruh obat PCP (Angel Dust, sejenis obat bius) ke dalam sup yang disajikan untuk para pemeran dan juga kru. Akibatnya delapan puluh orang mengalami sakit dan beberapa diantaranya dirawat di rumah sakit.

15. Ketika Rose melihat ke langit, saat ia menunggu kapal penyelamat, bintang-bintang di langit membentuk gugusan Heart of the Ocean.

16. Pada 2010 lalu, James mengatakan bahwa alasan sebenarnya dia ingin membuat film itu adalah agar dia bisa merekam reruntuhan kapal Titanic yang sebenarnya.
